  Having a shoe-fetish myself, I understand the desire and physical need for high-quality shoes HOWEVER...
  Children's feet change so quickly that it is truly a waste of money to buy designer, name-brand shoes. There will be times here shortly in your child's growth where he will go up a shoe size every few months. Buy the less expensive shoes!
  When his feet are done growing, or close to, - then go for the quality shoes.
  Just an fyi that a lot of people do not know - when a person is fitted for a shoe, when the attendant actually measures your foot, be sure that you are fitted for arch length and not foot length. For example, my foot measures a size 9 long, but my arch is between a 9 1/2 and 10 long. Fit the arch! Especially in "good" shoes.
  I sold quality designer shoes for fun, not to mention employee discount, for a year and remain a helpless shoe addict... someone needs to start a 12-step shoe rehab, lol.

When I moved to my new school, I was wearing a ralph lauren polo and paige jeans and Uggs and this girl came up to me and asked me if I was rich, I obviously said No. This year, people keep coming up to me and inviting me to their birthdays thinking Im gonna give them designer clothing or a lot of money. I went to one of my closest friends birthday parties and gave her a lacoste polo and this necklace, and the next day people kept asking me if I grow out of my old clothing to give it to them. I'm not rich, to be honest, these clothes are given to me (Not by donations or charities) by my moms friend whom works at this designer outlet..

How can I make this stop? I don't wanna tell people I get these clothing from my moms friend, its sorta like calling me too poor to afford clothing.

Uli was the winner of the dog challenge and had the pug. I would have to like her for that because well I have a pug and they are so sweet. Her design was wonderful for the model and the pug. Pugs have a weird shape and are hard to dress. Big shoulders and all. She did great.
VP the older woman is Laura. She is a great desiger too and people can wear her clotes too. I do not like any of the mean ones. They do not make usable clothes anyway.
They do have a ton of great designers on there and most have good personalities except that jeffrey the duck guy. I would love to see him off next so I do not have to listen to him. The others are nice most of the time. Anyone nice is a great start. And many have tallent and personality.

Why is it so disappointing when fashion students wear designer brands?
Hello All,
I read somewhere that a famous magazine editor ( maybe a designer) thought this was disappointing in a way. But I don't fully understand why. As a fashion student myself, is this wrong? I'm wondering if it's because it is not authentic and unique enough. Since we are suppose to be the trend setters and not following the trends. But girls still love to shop, and what's wrong with checking out designer brands on sale and so on? Especially since I am more on the merchandising side instead of Fashion designing. What is your opinion on this?

  I don't think it's disappointing at all. It's not like they can just make something themselves when they're already busy being a student. As long as it's unique and different in a way I think it's fine.

my parents want me to stop wearing hollister and abercrombie because they say they look trashy, and they can now easily afford the nicer stuff. they want me to only buy jeans from true religion, diesel, R&R, and D&G. they want me to wear cavalli dresses now and i used to carry guess handbags, but now that they have money, they bought me a whole bunch of louis vuittons and some chanel bags.

i admit it feels good to have clothes that are nicer than everyone else at school but is it normal for parents to want to spend money dressing up their daughter?

  They are in danger of turning you into a spoilt little madam who gets whatever she wants... but fortunately it sounds as though you are more down to earth than they are! It is natural for them to want to give you nice things now that they have obviously come into some extra money (although it sounds as if you weren't exactly poor before this extra money turned up!) but I think that they should be thinking more about instilling you with good values and awareness that money doesn't grow on trees, but has to be earned. Not to mention that fact that suddenly having all this posh stuff might start putting a strain on some of your friendships as the inevitable envy sets in - which will do more harm than good for you in the end.

  I think that quite a few parents are happiest spending their money on their children and letting them enjoy it rather than spending it on themselves... you are lucky that your parents seem to be like this (as are mine!) and I would say that perhaps it is worth indulging them and being smart when you are with them and their (new rich?) friends.. but when at school/with your friends I would say that it advisable to be your normal self. If you are happy with more 'normal' possessions then there's no point spending all the extra money unnecessarily is there??

  i don't think zebra print is tacky or any thing. i LOVE IT!..there's something about it that is just so funky and when you wear it you kinda stand out. Zebra print makes you different from others and its especially great if you like being the center of attention!

  the nordstroms bag of course! the two pockets make your stuff easier to organize. You can keep calculators, gum, a cell phone, girl stuff, etc in the pockets, while you can put a binder, or a book in the bigger pocket.

I don't usually like to talk about myself, but I suppose I would have to in order for someone to honestly and truthfully answer the question. Please keep in mind that i'm saying this in all modesty, Im not trying to hurt anyone's feelings!!

I'm 16 and live in what I concider to be a well-to-do area. My aprent's home is on a hill with a gate at the top of the driveway. Our home is 4,500 square feet, however I have a room with a closet, no personal bathroom or anyhting. We do have a pool, but it's a bit more nesicary because there is no public one, and it's nice to invite friends and family over for backward barbecues during the summer. I personally thinkt eh house is very nice, but we did pay for it, and my parents just sold our other house to pay for the mortgage. We purchaced it from j rockcliff realtors, it's not like it was just given to us.

For my sixteenth birthday, I did recieve a yellow mustang convertable, however even at the time of recieving it, after driving it arroudn some I felt a bit uneasy, I had done nothing to deserve the car. I felt bad, and after 8 months of driving, I've given it back to may panrents, but 1 month ago I did something that kinda cancels it out. I bought another car (this one was with my own money) and I'm still making monthly payments on it from the dealer. It's a 2008 530i automatic. Although I'm paying for it with my own saved money (that I earned, wasn't handed) does driving it make me spoiled? or high mantinence? I was also thinking of purchacing another convertable, because my parents have two, (one that they have and the yellow one I gave back to them) but I would like my own. I was thinking of buying a used porsche boxster from the porsche dealer in walnut creek. Again I would make payments and use my won money, but will owning it make me spoiled?

I do like to get my nails done once a week. I travel down the hill to victoria's hair and spa at the blackhawlk plaza, and get them there. I pay for it myself, and it's just somehtign I love to do. I've never gotten a pedicure however, and although I get my hair done I've never dyed it.

I find clothing and shopping to be more of a hobby than an actual necisity. Some people collect old coins, or nice furniture, I like to collect clothes. I do buy high-end brands, but I get them on sale at stores (such as nordstrom or bloomies, I always got oto the sale section), and even used, such as places like ebay. I do have very nice clothing, however I've purchaced most of it myself, and find it to be a collection. I've collected 40+ pairs of shoes, ( about 1/2 are designer, but most of the name brand stuff I purchaced on sale), 20 pairs of denim (it's premium/brand name, however most of it I get from ebay, used or from sale racks at nordstrom or saks fifth), and other things such as coats jackets and shirts. My parents give me 500$ a year to shop for clothes (wich I will admit I dont ahve a problem accepting, should I be feeling bad when I acept it?) but everyhting else I pay for out of pocket.

Same with purses. I really like europian brands, and unfrtuantely they are expensive. I've tried buying replica handbags before, but the quality was dispicable, I've obtained 40+ authentic handbags... some have been from outlet stores but the ones that aren't have cast me lots of money... should I feel guilty about purchacing them? I do pay with my own money, and I need laptop carriers and luggage... but should I not purchace the premium ones? I DONT want to come off as sopiled or bratty. I dont want people to judge me just because of what I own!

My parents gave me an iphone 3 months ago, it's really fun and all, however I didn't like taht they were paying 90$ a month for service. I felt becasue I was using the hpone I should pay. He is the president of a gas and electricity company is san fransisco, and travels alot. He has his piolet liscense, so we fly on his plane to places liek new york and such. I would normally feel bad about going with him, but I do see it as a learning experiance, i get to help with buisness transaction etc etc, and buisness may be somehting I want ot go into. Should I feel abd or not accept these trips? I really dont want to be spoiled.

I get a 30% comission for every high-fassion shoot that is posted in a magzine or newspaper, so it's good income! (PS I DID PAY MY WAY THROUGH MODELING SCHOOL! My parnets didnt or anyhitng... they don't want me to model but it's in interest of mine so I paid myself though it) I also work as a cashier at bcbg in walnut creek ( thats also how I get clothes, from employee dscount) and I work 20 hours a week. When I ahv ethe time, I tutor mentally disabled children for 20$ an hour
It's basically babysitting but im taching them signh language and how to get arround, they are deaf and blind and sometimes autistic, depedning on waht child im taking care of so it's very physically and menatlly demading, but I love it!!! I've learned so much about body language and the value of a life.

That's basically how i get my money... it's not jsut ahnded ot me!!! On my brothday my family and I will ahve a game night/party, invite over realitives and dance till our socks fall off and laugh and have a good time. it's not like Im us8t handed mony, I think?

I was recently at a women's expo and visited a booth that had knockoff designer bags and I saw this really great one that I LOVE but I forgot the name of the designer, and I can't seem to find it anywhere online.

  The ONLY show I went to was the last one. Which they hold 2 times a year. It was also under another name. Each exhbition has a website. Check out the exhibitors by category and make sure its one you will want to attend. I am not saying to go to all of them. The two shows that are geared toward the exporter is the NY Gift show in December and the last one in April. The NY Gift show, I think NY stands for New Year is put on by the Dept. of Export Promotion. The April show has 2 days for Trade people so you don't have a lot of people there and you can actually talk to the manufacturers.

  There is always wandering the Pratunam area and finding the manufacturers in that area. I could not help you there.

  Ocean freight from Thailand I would imagine would take a couple weeks. Freight is handled by "Freight Forwarders" in Thailand, they do all the documentation for you and can check your product if required.

  I did check the convention bureau and their list was incomplete. There also maybe other conventions at the Queen Sirikit convention center and other places. The major conventions or shows are held at the Impact Center and when you get there you will understand. It's huge.

  It's a knock off. There are such things, you can get Abercrombie knock offs where they change like one little thing and people think they're real. I'm almost positive it's not by Hollister because why would it look that Hippy-like. Hollister is surfer clothing and there logo is a seagull, so I don't understand why they would use another kind of bird, you know? Like Abercrombie using a deer instead of a moose? Why?   I think the third bag is the best for the following reasons. Black goes with everything so you will never have the "this doesn't match my purse" problem. It is stylish, but also the most plain so you will be more likely to have and enjoy it for a longer period of time. I find that when I get a bag with a lot of designs or something too specific (like Barbie) then I end up not using it as often as a more plain (but still stylish) bag.

  I don't think the first bag is necessarily too young for a 16 year old, since it is obviously styled for a teen and not a child.

  The Deena and Ozzy chain tote from Urban without a doubt. I would hope you get what you pay for despite the mixed reviews as opposed to buying from someplace like F21 or and exclusively online seller you haven't purchased from before, plus you'll be one of the first at school to set off fall's colorblocking trend. I've seen the bag in real life and there's certain enough room for your school stuff (trust me, you're going to end up having to carry a lot more than that) and the fact that it's cotton and PVC makes it more of an effective buy than the suede bag (imagine crossing campus in the rain, not fun).

• ANSWER:
  Old wives tales are a major cause of most repairs that leather technicians go out to fix and hairspray and solvents are the most common. Taking notice of these untested/unproved old wives tales could cost you a great deal of money if it goes wrong.
  Just repaired a very expensive jacket that had been virtually ruined by using hairspray to remove ink. It did not remove the ink and left a far worse problem to solve.

  Please do not scrub with anything as this will almost certainly remove the finish on the leather and this will be expensive to rectify.
  Checkout the details below before you try anything.

  Successful ink removal will depend on the type of leather you have, please see the following:

  Ink Removal
  Removing ink from leather is not a cleaning problem.
  Most ink removal products will not work simply because of the length of time the ink has been on the leather.

  You should also be using LTT Leather Protect on your suite. This will act like a 'scotchgard' and will make any more mishaps easier to clean off.

  You will see many people recommending household products to remove ink – this is not recommended as most simply will not work, some may appear to work but the damage they cause can make a much bigger problem which is then un-repairable (even by a technician)

  DO NOT USE THE FOLLOWING:

  Hairspray - This is very risky as it can make the matter far worse by spreading the ink over a bigger area and can sometimes then be impossible to fix.
  Nail Varnish remover/solvents will remove the finish on the leather even if you cannot tell it is doing so and this will then need replacing, and alcohol may do the same depending on the strength of the finish on the leather.
  Baby wipes – just about the worst thing you can use on a leather as they break down the finish and will eventually ruin it.
  Milk or Toothpaste - these are just silly ideas that will leave sticky residues on the surface which will help to break down the finish on your leather.
  Silicones/furniture polish – should not be used on leather. They will form a coating on the surface of the leather which will not allow any moisture to get to the leather itself and will eventually break all the finish down and cause it to crack.
  Hide food will not remove ink and will leave residues on the leather which will attract dirt and oils.
  Most leather cleaners will not remove ink unless a very good leather protector has been used on a regular basis.
  Magic sponges or erasers (Mr, Clean Magic Erasers). These have been tested by experts in the leather industry and have found to do a lot of damage to certain finish types on leather.

  Aniline Style Leather
  As aniline style leathers are largely absorbent it means that the ink will have soaked straight into the leather itself. This makes it impossible to remove. No product will successfully remove the ink.

  DO NOT try ink removing products on aniline style leathers as most will leave a greasy residue which will then cause another problem.

  Because aniline style leathers are absorbent the ink will carry on moving through the leather and may become less obvious over time. Cleaning and protecting will also help to dissipate over time.

  Leather can be given a light cleaning with good old fashioned soap and water. Before you get into the cleaning, check with the manufacturer’s instructions. Also, try the soap and water on a small area before cleaning the entire bag. Use a light soap, such as mild dish washing liquid. A good ratio is one part dish washing liquid to five parts water. Gently rub into the leather, using a circular motion. Make sure that the solution is not wicking out the color from the leather before you use the solution on a larger area.

Keeping the Edges of My Leather Handbag from Flaking onto My Coat?
I bought two different leather handbags recently from two different stores, and the straps of both bags have the same problem. The edges of the leather are not sealed up (so it has that rough look), and both bags leave flakes all over my black coat after only minutes of wearing. One of the bags is bright yellow, so it leaves tiny yellow flakes everywhere. The other is light colored, which is worse b/c it looks like dandruff flakes. I got them at pretty nice stores (one is from Anthropologie and the other from Loehmann's), so I was surprised that this happened.

I do love both the bags, so I was wondering if there was some way that I could seal the edges without it being too noticeable. Any leather products that anyone would recommend?

  It's possible that the use of all those products has actually "set in" the stain and now it's impossible to remove it. I would try an automotive product for cleaning vinyl. I have been surprised by how great autocare products work inside the home. Sorry I don't have an actual product name for you.

  I would like to suggest that you find out why your clothes are giving off so much dye onto your accessories. I wash jeans before they are worn to try to get the excess dye off of them. I've never had my purses pick up color.

but the bag ha leather smooth linin inside, really nice and soft. the handles are leaster. its a tiny handbag.
stiched with yellow thread, neatly. zipper is smooth and on the zipper it has like a padlock thingy with lv written on it.
on the handles it has metal thingys that has louis vuitton writeen on it spelt correctly.

also the metal studs that keep the handles on has loius vuitton writeen on it. the bags is tiny but its quite heavy.

  You should try taking it to a high end vintage store or another place that might sell used designer bags and see if they can tell for you. I'm sure there are people that can definitely decipher if it is real or not but it is probably hard to find them. Why don't you post detailed photos of your actual bag and see if anyone recognizes it as a vintage LV?

  I can't tell you if your bag is fake based on your description because most fakes also have correct markings

  I'm going to say it's probably fake as I wouldn't let my grandpa sell mine at a garage sale dirt cheap. I won't even sell mine on Ebay for much less than I paid for it..

  I wouldn't let any of mine go for under 0. Smaller bags would go for less depending on what I paid, but I don't own very small bags..

How to tell a REAL Louis Vuitton bag from a FAKE?
my aunt gave me louis vuitton handbag reccently. she had already used it and gave it to me because she apparently grew out of it, lol.
anyway, i know my aunt pretty well i think, and i don't know if her pride would enable her to buy a fake handbag, but i can't be one to judge. how can i tell if it's the real thing or not? i wouldn't care either way, but i'm just curious

and i'm confused with what i've already read about distinguishing a real bag from a fake, but here are some traits which i heard were important:

1. yellow stiching
2. the "feet" at the bottom are magnetic
3. it still looks new and isn't breaking, tearing, etc...
4. seems to be leather (i can't tell the difference from nylon and silk :p)

Sarah, bearing the latest 1924 ‘DuPont’ backpack, curiously began to gather her surroundings as she stood, waiting. Clumps of her black stringy hair began to flail in the coarse wind while her hazel eyes darted around, taking in the demolished surroundings.
To her right was a grey, stone wall. As she turned her head, noticing the ratty remnants of a black and white poster, her face twitched: a spontaneous reaction of what she saw.
Her trembling voice muttered out the English translation written at the bottom of what appeared to be just one of the many advertisements of Leninism. “We shall go forward. Step higher with energy and unity of will. V.I. Lenin” The skin between her eyebrows began to crumple and mount as concern grew on her face.
